Megan O’Connor is this month’s Member of the Month. Megan is Outreach Coordinator at Lake Superior Community Partnership. When asked why she became a Connect Marquette Member, Megan replied:
“I’m apart of Connect Marquette to meet other young professionals. Being 23 and in my second year out of college, most of my friends are either still in college or have moved away. Connect Marquette provides me the opportunity to get to know people outside of my regular circle and form lasting professional relationships.”
Megan believes her membership has helped her with other professionals and mentors.
Outsider of her profession, Megan sings for St. Peter’s Cathedral every Sunday, she is a Big Sister with Big Brothers Big Sister, volunteers around the community, loves yoga and skiing, and is currently enjoy learning about floral arranging. Her favorite community event is Beer Fest and Megan’s favorite thing about the Marquette Community is the sense of togetherness. Megan said,
“Every time I walk into a business, I know someone or see a familiar face…. I feel like even strangers look out for me!”
