Interested in Daniel’s favorite Connect Marquette/40 Below memory?

Here is what he said:

One of my favorite memories was being a part of the workshop to discuss the 40B to CM name change. The room was full of so many ideas and new names were flying all over the place. It was a lot of fun to be a part of and having our membership, and community at large such a major part of that decision made it a very educational and fun experience. (put this part in if you want) I will admit I was on the side of keeping the original 40 Below name but once the decision was made that the name was being changed, I embraced the process and had fun contributing to the selection of the new one.

When it comes to Daniel’s favorite hobbies or activities outside of work, Dan loves spending time with his wife, daughter, and pup Dunder. His hobbies include woodworking and house projects. Like many others in Marquette, he enjoys getting outside, going for hikes, swimming in Lake Superior, golfing, and skiing at Marquette Mountain.

Here is Daniel’s best advice for getting the most out of your membership:

Get involved and be an active participant in CM. Not only is it a really good way to meet people but it is a great way to learn from other people. Everyone in the group brings a set of skills and knowledge that you can learn from and hopefully help others with your skills and knowledge. There is so much professional diversity in the organization and the people that are most involved in events and functions seem to get the most value from their membership. If you have time to join a committee, do that. If you have a couple hours a month and can’t commit to weekly/monthly meetings then do you best to attend the socials or other networking functions. Our group is an in-person type of organization and we depend heavily on the ability to socialize and network. That all will return with time and when it does, take advantage of it. Step out of your comfort zone, get involved and meet new people. Connect Marquette is a great way to do that.
