Connect Marquette is excited to continue our monthly (1 hour) Lunch With Leaders series, bringing together both members and non-members interested in the unique perspective of each month's guest.
We offer an accessible setting to get to know, learn, and discuss relevant topics that fit our mission; being an instrumental part of the long-term success of individuals in Marquette County through collaboration, inclusiveness, innovation, and the U.P. work ethic. This is a great opportunity to get to know our guest in a small-group format!
Our September 23 conversation will be with Dr. Wael Khouli, the Chief Medical Officer at UP Health System - Marquette. Dr. Khouli has been in his current position in Marquette -where he works to oversee staff, while also engaging in discussions about the strategy and direction of the hospital system - for four years.
Dr. Khouli completed his internal medicine residency at St. Joseph Mercy Hospital in Ann Arbor and earned his medical degree at Damascus University Medical School in Damascus, Syria. He also holds a MBA from the Yale School of Management in New Haven, Conn.
In addition to his extremely interesting personal background (and of course about the massive challenges brought by the COVID-19 pandemic) we're hoping to talk to Dr. Khouli about the impact UPHS has on our community, including the role that it plays in drawing and retaining top talent in other fields.
This Lunch With Leaders meeting will be hosted through Zoom. So take this opportunity to get to know a bit more about our local hospital system, and one of the people leading the way. Grab your computer, take a break, grab a bite and spend your lunch with us!
Registration will be available until shortly before the start of the program. Registrants will receive a follow-up email with information on how to join the discussion.
*The $5 registration helps pay for the lunch series - Thank you!
Each month, Connect Marquette will feature a guest speaker in an informal lunch setting (up to 10 guests). Organized topics at different venues in downtown Marquette (when such meetings are again possible) will be announced ahead of time. The topic will be selected by the featured speaker, and a few topics can be suggested by the organization ahead of time for preparation.
